U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, who serves Minnesota’s 5th district, posted a series of statements on her social media accounts addressing Veterans Day, the release of Epstein-related files, and a local natural phenomenon.
On November 11, 2025, Omar wrote: "This Veterans Day, and every day, we honor our veterans for their service and sacrifice. I’ll continue to fight to ensure our veterans and their families get the support they need. That starts with ensuring they get the best healthcare and benefits they deserve."
The following day, November 12, she addressed public demands for transparency regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case: "The public deserves to know who enabled Epstein, who looked the other way, and who’s still being protected. Survivors have waited long enough. Release the Epstein files NOW."
Later that same day, Omar commented on a natural event in her district: "Incredible to see the northern lights shine down in Minnesota's Fifth District last night!"
Omar has represented Minnesota’s 5th congressional district since 2019 after succeeding Keith Ellison. She previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019. Born in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1982, Omar is currently based in Minneapolis and holds a BA from North Dakota State University.
