Hussein Mohamed Farah, executive director of New Vision Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota, has been charged with one count of wire fraud in connection to the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson.

According to the charges, Farah used his organization to participate in the scheme by running two food distribution sites under Feeding Our Future’s sponsorship. Authorities allege that he submitted false meal count sheets and attendance rosters as part of claims for reimbursement. Between February 2021 and January 2022, New Vision Foundation received about $2.7 million for meals that were reportedly served to children.

“These cases result from an investigation conducted by the FBI, IRS – Criminal Investigations, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.”

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson stated that Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matthew S. Ebert, Harry M. Jacobs, and Daniel W. Bobier are prosecuting these cases, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Baune is managing asset seizure and forfeiture.
