Rep. Ilhan Omar, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 5th district, announced on July 25 and 26, 2025, new legislative initiatives focused on environmental policy and public health.

On July 25, Omar posted: "I reintroduced the End Polluter Welfare Act with @SenSanders to remove $190+ BILLION in tax loopholes and federal subsidies to the fossil fuel industry, including $20 BILLION in new subsidies in Trump’s tax bill. It’s time to hold polluters accountable."

The following day, July 26, she addressed child safety issues related to drowning: "Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children and young people worldwide—disproportionately impacting communities of color. Today, @RepDWStweets and I introduced a resolution recognizing #WorldDrowningPreventionDay and calling for urgent action to save lives." She also shared a link in a separate post: "https://t.co/vwfP1x4gKK".
