Pete Stauber, Representative of Minnesota, said that President Trump's military strike against Iranian nuclear sites demonstrated decisive leadership and advanced peace through strength. The statement was made on the social media platform X.

"Iran has been wanting to eliminate the United States and Israel for decades," said Stauber. "President Trump's decision to surgically remove this threat was decisive leadership with the power of our extraordinary military force! This is peace through strength."

According to Reuters, the United States carried out Operation Midnight Hammer on June 22, 2025. The operation involved launching strikes on Iran’s Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear sites in response to rising tensions linked to the Iran-Israel conflict. This action has escalated concerns over a broader regional confrontation.

As reported by Forbes, U.S. officials say the recent strikes severely damaged Iran’s main nuclear facilities, including Natanz. However, a Defense Intelligence Agency assessment found that Iran’s nuclear program was set back only by several months and not destroyed outright.

According to the Financial Times, the June 2025 U.S. strikes involved heavier weaponry and direct engagement compared to previous U.S. or Israeli actions in Iran. This prompted international concern and led China to reassess American military involvement in the region.

As described by Wikipedia, Stauber is a Republican U.S. Representative from Minnesota’s 8th District since 2019. He is a former police lieutenant and hockey player who serves on the Transportation, Natural Resources, and Small Business committees with a focus on energy and veterans’ issues.
