Rep. Ilhan Omar announces $1 million funding for Minneapolis community project

Rep. Ilhan Omar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 5th district, shared several updates via social media on January 28, 2025. Her communications included recognition of funding secured for a community project, a statement regarding federal financial assistance programs, and reflections on a recent town hall meeting.

On January 28, Rep. Omar announced her collaboration with Minnesota State Representatives Esther Agbaje, Sandra Feist, and Fue Lee to secure $1 million in Community Project Funding for People Serving People (PSP) in Minneapolis. She stated that "The funding will be used to strengthen People Serving People’s Modernization Project for Families Experiencing…".

Later that day, she addressed actions by the Trump administration concerning federal financial support. In her tweet, she shared "Rep. Omar's statement on the Trump administration's move to freeze federal grant, loan, and other financial assistance programs."

Concluding her series of posts on January 28, Rep. Omar expressed gratitude towards attendees of her first town hall meeting of the year. She remarked "Thank you to everyone who joined us at our first town hall of the year! It was wonderful connecting with you all and hearing your concerns."
