Teen Ukrainian Egg Series
Join local artist (and teen librarian) Meg Deignan to learn the art of Ukrainian Egg dying.
In this five-part series teens will learn about traditional Ukrainian egg dying process and decorate their own eggs. Ukrainian egg dying, also known as Pysanky, is a traditional art form that uses melted wax to layer designs on real eggs. Each participant will create their own eggs that can be saved and used for springtime decorations for years to come.
Because this process has many steps, participants are expected to attend at least three out of the five Thursday sessions to complete the process. Please only register for the series if you anticipate attending at least three Thursdays of the series. If able to attend all five sessions you should be able to complete two eggs.
The series runs from 2 to 4 p.m. on the following Thursdays: June 23, June 30, July 14, July 21, July 28. Participants must be age 11-18 as of June 23.
Registration for the first day, June 23, holds your spot for the entire series.
