City of Aitkin issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
That snow! We expect more tomorrow. The Aitkin City Ordinance related to parking in the winter does not go into effect until November 1, however, with this early snow fall we still have to get the streets cleared! Please be considerate in parking over night if we have a snow fall. Our street crew is out working very early and would like to have the roads clean before morning rush begins. This makes it difficult with cars parked along the streets.
Please consider parking in your "winter" spot a few weeks early to help out our crews!
