City of Aitkin issued the following announcement on May 21.
Attention City of Aitkin Residents: New severe weather sirens have been installed and will be tested today sometime between now and 12:00.
There are two sirens, one in the center of Aitkin, near the court house, and the other on the south end of Aitkin, near the old Shopko.
For residents on the outer edge of town we'd love to hear how far the sirens reach! You can message us via facebook, call 927-2133 or email us at aitkinpolice@aitkinpolice.com so we know how far that noise travels!
