South St. Paul home prices rise in the third quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2019 in South St. Paul rose by $18,876 while total sales decreased by 28.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2019, there were 107 homes sold, with a median sale price of $228,001 - a 9% increase over the $209,125 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 150 homes sold in South St. Paul in the third quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in South St. Paul for 2019 was $2,558. In 2018, the median sales tax was $2,515. This marks an increase of 1.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.1%.
