Lexington home prices rise in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Lexington rose by $4,900 while total sales increased by 150%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $239,900 - a 2.1% increase over the $235,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Lexington in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Lexington for 2019 was $3,015. In 2018, the median sales tax was $2,480. This marks an increase of 21.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.3%.
