Columbus home prices fall in the second quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2019 in Columbus fell by $41,000 while total sales decreased by 45.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2019, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $279,000 - a 12.8% decrease over the $320,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 11 homes sold in Columbus in the second quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Columbus for 2019 was $3,826. In 2018, the median sales tax was $3,246. This marks an increase of 17.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
