Lexington home prices fall in the second quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2019 in Lexington fell by $7,326 while total sales increased by 20%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2019, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $195,175 - a 3.6% decrease over the $202,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were five homes sold in Lexington in the second quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Lexington for 2019 was $3,015. In 2018, the median sales tax was $2,480. This marks an increase of 21.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.5%.
