Lexington home prices rise in the third quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2019 in Lexington rose by $67,450 while total sales decreased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2019, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $247,450 - a 37.5% increase over the $180,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were nine homes sold in Lexington in the third quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Lexington for 2019 was $3,015. In 2018, the median sales tax was $2,480. This marks an increase of 21.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.2%.
