Gem Lake home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Gem Lake rose by $54,250 while total sales remained unchanged with two homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were two homes sold, with a median sale price of $210,000 - a 34.8% increase over the $155,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Gem Lake in the third quarter of 2017, as well.

The median sales tax in Gem Lake for 2018 was $3,785. In 2017, the median sales tax was $3,533. This marks an increase of 7.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.8%.
