Columbus home prices fall in the first half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2019 in Columbus fell by $26,150 while total sales decreased by 52.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2019, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $288,750 - a 8.3% decrease over the $314,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 17 homes sold in Columbus in the first half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Columbus for 2019 was $3,826. In 2018, the median sales tax was $3,246. This marks an increase of 17.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.3%.
