West St. Paul home prices rise in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in West St. Paul rose by $15,500 while total sales increased by 19.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were 180 homes sold, with a median sale price of $210,500 - a 7.9% increase over the $195,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 151 homes sold in West St. Paul in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in West St. Paul for 2018 was $2,468. In 2014, the median sales tax was $1,986. This marks an increase of 24.3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.2%.
