St. Paul home prices rise in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in St. Paul rose by $17,000 while total sales decreased by 14.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 1,907 homes sold, with a median sale price of $220,000 - a 8.4% increase over the $203,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 2,237 homes sold in St. Paul in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in St. Paul for 2019 was $3,106. In 2018, the median sales tax was $2,772. This marks an increase of 12%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
