Shakopee home prices rise in 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in 2018 in Shakopee rose by $18,000 while total sales increased by 7.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2018, there were 821 homes sold, with a median sale price of $240,000 - a 8.1% increase over the $222,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 763 homes sold in Shakopee in 2017.

The median sales tax in Shakopee for 2018 was $3,012. In 2017, the median sales tax was $2,756. This marks an increase of 9.3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.3%.
