The National Education Association found that teachers in Minnesota had an average salary of $57,782 during the 2017-2018 school year, according to data the association compiled.
The data found that teachers' salaries were up nearly 1 percent from the previous school year and that the national average for a teacher's salary was $60,477, according to The Center Square.
The data found that New York teachers made the most in the nation at $84,227, while Mississippi teachers made the least at $44,926. Minnesota ranked 20th. Teacher pay went from $57,346 to $57,782 from the 2016-2017 school year to the 2017-2018 school year—a difference of $436, according to the data.
The association estimates that teachers' salaries this yearr will increase 2.1 percent over the previous school year, according to The Center Square. Nationwide, teachers' salaries changed, on average, 1.58 percent.
