Independence home prices fall in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in Independence fell by $79,950 while total sales decreased by 11.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were 23 homes sold, with a median sale price of $445,000 - a 15.2% decrease over the $524,950 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 26 homes sold in Independence in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $5,414, approximately 1.2% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2017.
