Shakopee home prices rise in the second quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2018 in Shakopee rose by $18,800 while total sales decreased by 7.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2018, there were 238 homes sold, with a median sale price of $243,750 - a 8.4% increase over the $224,950 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 258 homes sold in Shakopee in the second quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Shakopee for 2018 was $3,012. In 2017, the median sales tax was $2,756. This marks an increase of 9.3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.2%.
