New Brighton home prices rise in the first quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2018 in New Brighton rose by $38,500 while total sales remained unchanged with 41 homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2018, there were 41 homes sold, with a median sale price of $245,500 - a 18.6% increase over the $207,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 41 homes sold in New Brighton in the first quarter of 2017, as well.

The median sales tax in New Brighton for 2018 was $3,317. In 2017, the median sales tax was $3,078. This marks an increase of 7.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
