Common Cause Minnesota and local partners will organize a community town hall in Mankato on Saturday, March 29. The event is a response to the organization's appeal for state legislators to engage with the community following delays in legislative actions due to partisan disagreements earlier this year.
The town hall is co-hosted by Greater Mankato Diversity Council, The Arc Minnesota, Mankato Islamic Center, COPAL (Comunidades Organizando el Poder y La acción Latina/Communities Organizing for Latino Power and Action), and Minnesota State University.
Confirmed attendees include Rep. Luke Frederick (18B), Rep. Bjorn Olson (22A), Rep. Paul Torkelson (15B), and Sen. Rich Draheim (22). Common Cause Minnesota's Executive Director Annastacia Belladonna-Carrera and Policy & Civic Engagement Manager Emma Rage will also be present.
The event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at MSU Mankato Wiecking Center Auditorium, Room 220, located at 415 Malin Street, Mankato, MN 56001. Community members and media are welcome to attend.
To RSVP, interested parties can email Emma Rage at aterage@commoncause.org.
