On February 22, 2025, Rep. Omar tweeted about the impact of federal funding cuts by former President Donald Trump on Head Start programs across the country. In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Omar highlighted her engagement with Black community leaders and local officials during an event held in Minneapolis. She expressed gratitude for their contributions, stating "I held an event in Minneapolis to connect with Black community leaders and local officials from across Minnesota’s Fifth District. During Black History Month, and every month, I’m grateful for their leadership and support in building the brighter future our communities deserve."

Additionally, Rep. Omar met with Sharon Smith, founder of the People of Color Career Fair, to discuss promoting diversity and inclusion in workplaces amidst challenges posed by policies from the Trump Administration.
