Community groups outline legislative priorities for 2025 session

Local community and BIPOC-led organizations are set to hold a press conference on January 16 to present their priorities for the upcoming 2025 Minnesota Legislative Session. The event will emphasize the urgency of legislative advocacy and highlight the significance of co-creating legislative changes with affected communities.

Among the participating groups are Common Cause Minnesota, African, Latino, Asian and Native American Workforce (ALANA), African Career Education Resource Inc. (ACER), Asian American Organizing Project (AAOP), Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER), Islamic Civic Society of America (ICSA), Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage (CMAH), Minnesota Indian Affairs Council (MIAC), Minnesota Commission of the Deaf, DeafBlind & Hard of Hearing, Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs (MCLA), and Minnesota Immigrant Movement (MIM).

Deaf and hard-of-hearing interpreters will be available during the press conference. The organizers request that these interpreters be included in any video coverage.

The press conference is scheduled for Thursday, January 16 at 8:30 am CT in the Capitol Press Room, Room B97, located at 75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard., St Paul, MN 55155.
