ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY: Sir Sean Connery

Anderson Funeral Home And Crematory issued the following announcement on Nov. 3.

Sir Sean Connery, best known for his portrayal as James Bond, passed away on Saturday at the age of 90.

Connery was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He joined the army in 1946 at the age of 16, but was discharged at 19 due to a duodenal ulcer. A year later, he began working backstage at the King's Theatre. In 1953, Sir Sean landed a small part in a production of "South Pacific" where he first met his lifelong friend, Michael Caine. His breakthrough came nearly ten years later, in 1962, when he was cast as James Bond. In 1987, Connery starred in "The Untouchables," for which received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
