City of Aitkin issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
It's been brought to our attention that the Police Department phone number (218-927-2133) is being used to notify citizens that "they are being sued and must report to the Police Department, tomorrow."
This is a scam!
As always, if worried please call the police department. If it's outside of normal business hours, you may call the non-emergency dispatch number at the Aitkin County Sheriff's Department 218-927-7400.
