Funddin

Bear Creek Lutheran Church issued the following announcement on May 9.

The Bear Creek Lutheran Church Of Rural Grand Meadow Has Been Serving A Memorial Day Dinner Since 1952. It Was A Ham Dinner And The Cost At That Time Was $1.25 Which Included Ham, Potatoes, Cabbage Salad, Corn, Rolls, Cookies And Pie. 325 People Were Served At That First Dinner And Leftover Pies Were Sold For 50 Cents. Through The Course Of Time, The Menu Has Changed And The Cost Of Tickets Has Risen. However, Many People Have Been Served Through The Years Who Come To Bear Creek Church To Visit The Graves Of Loved Ones On Memorial Day.

Then Came 2020, The Year Of Covid 19 Which Has Had An Enormous Impact On Everyone's Life.

Unfortunately We Have Decided To Cancel The 68th Annual Memorial Day Dinner To Protect The Many People That Attend The Dinner To Eat And Visit. Stay Well And We Hope To See You Back On Memorial Day In 2021
