City of Adrian issued the following announcement on March 17
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization deemed COVID-19 novel coronavirus to be a pandemic. On March 13, President Trump declared a Presidential National Emergency and MN Governor Walz declared a Peacetime State of Emergency in Minnesota. On March 17th, Nobles County Board Chair declared a Local Emergency. Following suit, Mayor Faber is declaring a State of Emergency in Adrian effective March 18th until further notice, under declaration authority of MN State Statute 12.29.
As a City, we will continue to monitor the health and safety of our residents and strongly encourage residents to follow guidelines set by the MN Dept of Health and CDC. The recommendations continue to be fluid and changing daily, we will continue to monitor them closely and make our best effort to keep citizens informed. We have created a Community Response Team that is comprised of a list of volunteers that are willing to help deliver meals, groceries and other essential household needs to older adults and/or vulnerable populations in need. We have wonderful local businesses that are providing curbside pick-up, deliveries and other great service, especially during this time.
City staff will continue to work in all facilities in a limited capacity to provide essential city services. You are encouraged to connect with city staff through the city website, by phone and by email. If you have business that is time-sensitive and must be conducted in person, call (507-483-2849) to make an appointment. City staff will do their best to accommodate your request. All City and Public Works meetings are currently postponed until March 30th and we will re-evaluate at that time when they will be rescheduled.
Thank you for all of your support and understanding as we are entering unchartered territory during this pandemic. We will continue to make our best efforts to get through this together.
