Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 7.
Have you heard of Mindful Movement? Does your child struggle with focus, worry, emotional regulation? Do you find yourself looking for strategies to help your child calm down in times of worry, stress, or anger?
Mindfulness and Mindful Movement are ways to help children, and adults too. With increased mental health issues, poor sleep, attention issues, unhealthy diet and exercise habits, children and adults alike are overwhelmed. To counter the health impact of our highly-stressed world, we have incorporated Mindful Movement programs in our day here at AES.
During this hour-long informational session, you will learn why, how and where Mindfulness is used at school. You will also walk away with some strategies you can use at home to help your child self-regulate, calm themselves and be their best selves! Join Dawn Schaefer-Stumpf (Teacher), Amy Miller (School Social Worker), Nancy Lipinski (School Nurse), and Katie Techel (Student Support Specialist) for an hour filled with fantastic, powerful information! Prizes will be given away!
