Over the summer, Minnesota State Representative Natalie Zeleznikar (R-Two Harbors) has been active in community events across her district. In a recent update, Zeleznikar shared that she attended parades in Two Harbors, Hermantown, and Hoyt Lakes, highlighting the efforts of local organizers and expressing appreciation for engaging with residents.
Zeleznikar also participated in meetings with childcare providers and visited businesses. She joined community members in Brimson to discuss recovery efforts following recent damage from fires. "Listening to families who lost everything in the Brimson fires," she wrote, describing a packed meeting focused on next steps for recovery.
She noted being honored by the League of Greater Minnesota Cities in Bemidji for her legislative work authoring a bill that provides funding for ambulance services in Greater Minnesota. "It was a great evening, and I appreciated hearing legislators from both parties speak about working together in a 67–67 tied House chamber. Since no bill could leave the chamber without at least one vote from the other side of the aisle, finding common ground was essential. Ambulance services were one example of how that bipartisan cooperation made a real difference," Zeleznikar said.
The representative also took part in several neighborhood gatherings including Neighborhood Night Out events in Hermantown, Grand Lake, Solway, and Fredenberg. She mentioned spending time at Lakewood School to tour areas set for upgrades after successful grant applications.
Zeleznikar concluded her message by reflecting on time spent outdoors and with family during the summer months: "I’m happy to be back in the district, enjoying walks in the woods, time at the lake, community gatherings like Neighborhood Night Out, and family reunions to create and cherish memories together."
"Imer Garata Aus — Always Straight Ahead — as my dear friend Jack Sodebier would say," she added.
