Brad Finstad, Representative of Minnesota, has expressed opposition to a controversial app alleged to endanger Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. He reiterated his support for immigration enforcement officers following recent attacks. The statement was made on the social media platform X.

"Proud to join Rep. Roger Williams & Rep. Pat Fallon in calling out this dangerous app that targets ICE agents - especially after the recent attacks on our immigration enforcement officers," said Finstad. "I will always support the brave men & women working to keep Americans safe."

Digital threats against law enforcement have increased, with apps and websites publishing personal data and tracking locations of officers, particularly targeting agencies like ICE. CBS News reports that these incidents have prompted Homeland Security safety alerts and escalated debates over tech regulation and officer protection in the digital age.

According to a 2024 report from the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General, attacks and credible threats against ICE agents rose by 55% between 2022 and 2024. More than 480 documented incidents last year included doxxing, cyber harassment, and physical intimidation.

Wired reports that law enforcement agencies are responding to rising digital harassment by launching new officer safety training programs, supporting legislative proposals for tougher penalties, and urging tech companies to restrict doxxing apps. States such as California and Texas are considering new laws in response.

Finstad, a Republican representing Minnesota’s 1st District since 2022, previously served in the state House and as USDA Rural Development director. According to his official biography, he supports strong immigration enforcement and cosponsors bills aimed at protecting ICE agents from threats.
