Wiste’s Meat Market in Janesville, Minnesota, has initiated a voluntary recall of three meat products due to improper processing procedures. The recall involves products that were produced without the necessary inspection. This decision follows a routine check by Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) inspectors who identified that 116 pounds of product were processed without an approved method and lacked the required state inspection for safety and wholesomeness.
There have been no reports of adverse reactions or illnesses linked to these products, according to both the MDA and Wiste’s Meat Market.
The recalled items include 38 pounds of Blueberry Wild Rice Summer Sausage with a pack date of May 23, 2025, as well as 70 pounds of Original Beef Sticks and 8 pounds of Cheddar Cheese Beef Sticks, both with a pack date of May 31, 2025. These products are marked with establishment number “891” inside the State of Minnesota mark on their labels.
These beef products were sold at Wiste’s Meat Market retail locations at 208 North Main Street in Janesville and 116 S 3rd St in Waterville.
Consumers who suspect they may have fallen ill after consuming these products should seek medical advice. Those who purchased any affected items are advised to dispose of them or return them to Wiste’s Meat Market.
