Artist's statements:

"My instinctive process of aesthetic organization, assemblage, relates to the collective evolution of a city." -Erik Ritter

"My primary medium is watercolor, but I also use other media such as pen and ink marks to define the details of each painting, giving layers and depth to each painting." -Suyao Tian

"Starting with a photograph, painting, or 'tabula rasa,' I use virtual tools to create works that are a hybrid of the abstract-expressionist feel of paint on canvas with the precise look of technology." -David Enblom

"My images gravitated to abstraction; then photography expanded into painting. Today I work in New Media (digital), where I can further blend and reshape the intersection of image, color, and form." -Polly Norman

"I've spent the past 10 years developing my very distinctive personal style of painting using multiple layers of transparent paint to create a luminous quality reminiscent of stained glass or batik." -Nancy Stephani

"Narratives are open ended. Perhaps in the same way someone might read graffiti on a train passing by. Another facet is American consumerism and its critique. This manifests both in terms of material and content choices." -Nathaniel Flink
