BEMIDJI AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Seeking Executive Director

Hiring

Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.

Seeking a high-energy individual to provide overall leadership to the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce.

Key responsibilities include: promoting the Chamber to area businesses and community; developing strategies and plans which create a positive business environment; promoting local business; advocating public policy issues to local, state, and federal officials; assisting with local economic development; providing daily leadership for staff; organizing and leading various committees and initiatives.

Four-year college or university degree required. Minimum five years in a previous management and/or leadership role, experience with proven ability to set and manage budgets and interpret financial statements, proven leadership in economic development, successful community leadership, supervising and evaluating staff, strategic planning, excellent communication and public speaking skills. Preference given to candidates with advanced degree or has graduated from the U.S. Chamber Institute program or has five or more years’ experience in the Chamber of Commerce profession or another non-profit organization.
