Woman injured after being pinned by round bale in Morrison County

On October 11, 2025, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident in Ripley Township, northeast of Little Falls. According to authorities, the office received a report at about 3:18 p.m. that a woman was trapped under a round bale in a field.

Deputies determined that Tasha Wood, age 38 and from Fort Ripley, Minnesota, had been helping her husband unload round bales from a trailer. Her husband was operating a skid loader with a bale spear when one of the bales slid off the attachment and landed on Wood, briefly pinning her underneath.

Wood was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd. The extent of her injuries is not known at this time.
