Washington County announced on Apr. 24 that it will host a series of community events and activities throughout May to mark Mental Health Awareness Month.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and provide resources for residents seeking support. The county has scheduled several events, including workshops, fairs, and wellness activities.
The lineup includes a Virtual Parent Café on May 6, Mindful Art with The Healing Project of Minnesota on May 7, Completing the Stress Cycle workshops on May 11 and May 28, a Mental Health Resource Fair on May 12, Tech-Savvy Parenting on May 16, and a Nature Wellness Walk on May 30. In addition to these events, the county’s mobile mental health van will be present at various locations during the month to offer free social service information and resources.
Residents interested in learning more about these programs or accessing additional mental health resources are encouraged to visit WashingtonCountyMN.gov/MentalHealthMonth.
The focus on community engagement reflects ongoing efforts by local authorities to address mental health needs through accessible education and outreach.
