Vikings announce jersey numbers for new players for 2026 season

The Minnesota Vikings announced on May 6 the jersey numbers assigned to their new players for the upcoming 2026 season, including free agents, draft picks, and undrafted rookies. The team also confirmed a number change for one returning player.

According to the announcement, several veteran free agents have been given their numbers: Kyler Murray will wear number 1, Johnny Hekker will wear number 5, James Pierre is assigned number 23, and Eric Johnson II will take number 93.

For the Vikings’ 2026 draft class, Jakobe Thomas will wear number 8; Charles Demmings gets number 20; Demond Claiborne is assigned number 21; Jake Golday receives number 41; Max Bredeson takes number 45; Gavin Gerhardt is given number 58; Caleb Tiernan gets number 78; Caleb Banks wears number 95; and Domonique Orange has been assigned to wear number 97.

The list of undrafted free agents includes Luke Wysong (17), Tyreek Chappell (28), Marcus Allen (29), Shaleak Knotts (30), Marcus Sanders Jr. (31), Kejon Owens (35), De’Veawn Armstead (38), Jacob Thomas (39), Scooby Williams (40), Jordan Botelho (46), Brett Thorson (47), Jacob Roberts (48), Cam’Ron Stewart (49), Arden Walker (56), Keli Lawson (57), Delby Lemieux (62), Tristan Leigh (63), Tomas Rimac (67), Dillon Bell (89) and Monkell Goodwine who will wear the No.96 jersey.

A returning player making a change this year is Chaz Chambliss, who switches from his previous No.57 to No.32 for the upcoming season.

The announcement also encouraged fans to download the official Minnesota Vikings Mobile App for updates on breaking news and live scores throughout the season.
