Two found dead in Pierz home; investigation underway

Authorities in Morrison County are investigating the deaths of two people found inside a home in Pierz, Minnesota. According to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to conduct a welfare check at a residence on the 600 block of River Valley Road at around 10:36 a.m. on Friday, July 18.

When officers from both the Pierz Police Department and the sheriff’s office entered the home, they discovered an adult male and an adult female deceased inside. The bodies have been transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies. Officials are withholding their identities until positive identification is made and next of kin are notified.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has joined local authorities in investigating the case. “At this time, authorities believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to public safety,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation remains ongoing. The Pierz Police Department was assisted at the scene by both the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and the BCA.
