The City of Anoka is continuing its efforts to gather community input on the proposed road connection at the commercial development site located at the northwest corner of Bunker Lake Boulevard and 7th Avenue. In 2023, city officials held neighborhood meetings about the project, where residents expressed strong support for a public road connection that would preserve access to nearby neighborhoods.

As development plans move forward, the city is hosting another public engagement meeting and has introduced an online questionnaire to collect further feedback from residents regarding the type of road connection preferred. The options under consideration include a public road as initially planned or a private drive lane through the site's parking lot.

According to information provided by city officials, traffic patterns in surrounding neighborhoods may be impacted by new development at this site. Gathering community feedback is seen as an important step before any final decisions are made about road access.
