Later the same day on May 9, she highlighted the upcoming Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive scheduled for Saturday. She encouraged participation by asking people to leave non-perishable food items by their mailboxes for collection by letter carriers who would deliver them to local food banks. Leave a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox and your letter carrier will deliver it to a local food bank."
On May 10, Omar reflected on her week spent in Washington from May 5-9. She participated in the Feminist Peace Initiative press conference where she advocated for a foreign policy focused on peace rather than militarism: "Another busy week in Washington!
