Rep. Ilhan Omar engages constituents through tele-town hall and local visits

Rep. Ilhan Omar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 5th district, shared updates and engagements with her constituents through a series of tweets on March 18 and 19, 2025. Omar has been active in connecting with the community through various events and platforms.

On March 18, Rep. Ilhan Omar announced a tele-town hall event aimed at providing updates on her work for Minnesota's Fifth District. She invited constituents to join the session via social media: "We’re live! Join us for our tele-town hall to hear updates on our work fighting for the Fifth."

Following the event, she expressed gratitude towards those who participated in the tele-town hall. On March 19, she tweeted: "Thank you to everyone who called in to our Tele Town Hall this evening! It was incredible to connect with nearly 17,000 Minnesotans to hear about the issues that matter most." She also mentioned an upcoming in-person town hall scheduled for Thursday.

Later that day, Rep. Omar shared her experience visiting PICA Head Start Training Center in Minneapolis. In her tweet from March 19, she stated: "Had a great start to my day connecting with the kids at @PICAHeadStart Training Center in Minneapolis!" She highlighted PICA's role in providing essential early childhood and family development services within Hennepin County.
