Ilhan Omar, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 5th district, shared her thoughts on recent political and social issues through a series of tweets. Omar has been an active voice in Congress since 2019, following her tenure in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

On March 6, 2025, Omar commented on the censure of Rep. Al Green by the House. She stated, "The House voted to censure Rep. Al Green—a man who has spent his career fighting for justice and the people he serves." She questioned the reasoning behind this decision, attributing it to Green causing "good trouble." Omar emphasized her willingness to stand up against anyone, including the President.

The following day, March 7, 2025, Omar reflected on a historical civil rights event. She tweeted about John Lewis and others' march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge six decades ago: "60 years ago today, John Lewis and hundreds of brave souls marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, demanding the right to vote." Omar urged continued efforts in voting and organizing as part of honoring their legacy.

Later that same day, Omar hosted a discussion focusing on health disparities faced by Black women. In her tweet from March 7, she wrote: "Hosted a discussion with @D4Commish on the unique challenges Black women face in cardiovascular health." The conversation included insights from experts regarding mental health's impact on recovery and barriers to care for Black women.
