Rep. Ilhan Omar, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 5th district, recently expressed her views on social media regarding the impact of former President Donald Trump's policies. In a series of tweets posted on March 5, 2025, she criticized Trump's approach to international relations and its domestic consequences.

In her first tweet, Rep. Omar commented on the financial burden imposed on Americans due to what she described as Trump's mismanagement. She stated: "Trump’s incompetence just raised our electric bill. Millions of Americans will suffer all because Trump can’t stop torching our relationships abroad."

Later that day, Rep. Omar highlighted her participation in a significant political event by acknowledging Chris Wicker as her guest for a Joint Address. She used this opportunity to critique Trump's policies further and advocate for public servants and veterans: "Honored to have Chris Wicker as my guest for the Joint Address to shine a light on the real consequences of Trump's dangerous policies We must stand up for our public servants and veterans who provide critical services to everyday Americans."

In another tweet posted later in the day, Rep. Omar expressed her disapproval of an unspecified event or speech by choosing not to attend it fully. She stated: "I will not sit through a circus of lies. So I walked out. That man is so deep in his own delusions he thinks gaslighting the country counts as governance."
