Rep. Ilhan Omar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 5th district, has been vocal on social media regarding various legislative issues. Her recent tweets address concerns over budget cuts proposed by Republicans, federal grant funding for education, and food assistance programs.

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Omar expressed her opposition to Republican budget proposals during a Budget Committee markup session. She stated: "I'm currently in a Budget Committee markup. This is what Republicans want to do: Slash $880 billion from Medicaid Cut $230 billion from food assistance Hand $4.5 trillion in tax breaks to billionaires & big corporations This is a Republican rip off."

In another tweet posted on February 13, 2025, Rep. Omar emphasized her commitment to preventing cuts to food assistance programs. She declared: "No child should go hungry in the richest nation on Earth. My amendment stops $230 billion in cuts to vital food assistance—because feeding families should never be up for debate."
