The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is urging farmers to participate in its annual survey focused on pesticide and fertilizer use. This year's survey targets corn and soybean producers, aiming to collect data that will assist the MDA in monitoring agricultural chemical usage across Minnesota farms. The information gathered also aids educational and research initiatives.
The survey period is set from February 3 to February 26, with questions concentrating on pesticide and fertilizer applications for corn and soybeans during the 2024 season. Participation in the survey is voluntary, and no personal questions are asked.
Conducted by the USDA National Agriculture Statistics Service, the calls originate from regional offices located in Missouri and Arkansas. Farmers may notice these calls appearing as ‘Nass Call Center’ on their caller ID.
Amidst various surveys conducted by different agencies at this time of year, this particular survey's data collection is deemed essential for research purposes.
For further inquiries about the MDA’s annual survey or to access results from previous years, farmers can visit the MDA website at www.mda.state.mn.us/pesticidefertilizersurveys or contact them at 651-955-4066 between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
