Dushani Dye named one of Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s CFOs of the year

Dushani Dye, the City’s chief financial officer, has been named chief financial officer of the year in the government category by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

She is among a group of 19 financial executives honored by the publication. Nominees were evaluated by a panel of financial professionals who scored them on contributions to their organizations and the community. The CFO of the year honorees will be recognized at an awards event in November.

Dye has been the City’s chief financial officer since 2020, overseeing the City’s Finance and Property Services Department. Prior to taking on this role, she served as the budget director and deputy finance director for Ramsey County.

In her work at the City of Minneapolis, she has faced complex financial challenges with a positive approach to problem solving. Over the past two years, she has worked on the City’s government restructure process, navigated City finances to end 2020 and 2021 in a budget surplus, and partnered with rating agencies to improve the City’s financial outlook, among other achievements.

She collaborates with City leaders and staff to make informed, sustainable decisions for a resilient Minneapolis.
