Dakota County Government issued the following announcement on April 13.
How long should you keep your tax documents? The IRS recommends hanging onto them for 3-7 years (depending on your filing status). Get rid of your old tax documents safely at a free shredding event!
Remember to shred only what is necessary: documents with personal information like Social Security numbers or account numbers. Non-confidential papers can go in your home recycling cart.
