24/7 Wall St reports that taxes on gasoline in Minnesota rank the 29th highest in the nation.

According to The Center Square, gas taxes and fees in the state of Minnesota cost drivers 28.6 cents per gallon at the pumps.

An analysis that was done in January found that gas in Minnesota averages about $2.39 per gallon. The reports claim that the tax on gasoline averages about 12% of the total cost to the driver.

Additionally, the state gas taxes can cost the driver 20% of the total cost of gas. However, that is the worst-case scenario.

On average, the cost of gasoline on a nationwide scale in January was $2.50 per gallon. According to 24/7 Wall St, the average price now is almost half of what the average price per gallon was eight years ago. At that time, gasoline was $4 per gallon.
