The St. Thomas Tommies lost 4-2 to Oral Roberts on May 3 in the final game of their baseball series.

The game was notable as the Tommies faced the league-leading Golden Eagles, with Owen Bond leading the offense for St. Thomas by recording two doubles.

Oral Roberts started scoring in the second inning with a solo home run and extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth inning. The Golden Eagles added another run in the fifth before St. Thomas responded in the sixth when Bond’s double drove in Easton Fritcher, who had registered the team’s first hit earlier that inning.

Oral Roberts scored again in the eighth to make it a 4-1 game. In the ninth, Tanner Recchio contributed an RBI for St. Thomas, but it was not enough to overcome Oral Roberts’ lead.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas will travel to Iowa City on Tuesday, May 5 for their final midweek matchup of the season against Iowa.
